Grilled Walleye
While catching walleye is one of the most enjoying and rewarding endeavors in fishing. Learning some tasty ways to enjoy your catch is equally as amazing. There are many ways to cook this delicacy, but one of the quickest and delicious ways is grilled walleye. Begin by filleting the walleye, and rinsing the fillets with cool water to wash off any unwanted scales and slime.
Place it onto a sheet of aluminum foil.
Brush a light coating of olive oil onto the exposed meat and let it sit while you are making the herb seasoning.
Preheat a grill to 400°F
Herb Mixture:
1/8 Teaspoon of salt
1/8 Teaspoon of pepper
1 Teaspoon of minced garlic
½ Teaspoon of onion powder
½ Teaspoon of Cajun seasoning
1 Lemon, juiced
Directions
Mix all of these ingredients in a small bowl and spoon onto the walleye fillets.
Place another sheet of aluminum foil on top of the fillet and fold the edges to make a pouch.
Place onto the grill and cook for 10 minutes. At the 5 minute mark, flip the pouch over and allow it to cook for the remaining 5 minutes.
Take the pouches off the grill and open the container. The fillets should be white and flaky.
Plate the walleye and spoon on the leftover juices from the pouches onto the fillets.
Serve with a side of grilled asparagus and enjoy.
